Comprehensive insurance

Hail damage, martens or paint damage? You can take out casco insurance for these and other damages to your car. Taking out a casco insurance is not compulsory in all cases, but it usually makes sense. But what is the difference between a partial and a full casco insurance? We'll explain it to you.

Partial casco insurance basically covers damages to your car that you have not caused yourself. For example the following damages.

  • Martens and rodents: A marten has nibbled the brake cables of your car. Our partial casco insurance pays for the repair and for the possible consequential damages.
  • Glass breakage: You must replace your windscreen after a pebble jumped into it on a motorway. Our partial casco insurance covers the costs. Other glass parts of the car, such as expensive xenon headlights or licence plate lights, can also be insured on request.
  • Theft: You come back from the café and your car is no longer there. Our partial casco insurance also covers the costs of a damage caused by an attempted theft. And with the additional coverage "transported items" you can also insure your personal belongings in the vehicle against theft.
  • Collision with animals: Suddenly a boar finds itself on the pass road. Unfortunately, there is not enough time to avoid it. Our partial casco insurance covers damages to your car caused by a collision with animals.
  • Fire and elementary events: After a thunderstorm, a branch hits your parked car. Storms, floods or hail are elementary events in our partial casco, and our partial casco insurance also pays in case of fire damages to your car - for example, if your garage catches on fire.

Full casco insurance consists of partial casco and collision insurance. In addition to the examples listed above, collision insurance also pays for damage to your car that you have caused yourself - regardless of whether you hit a pole during a parking manoeuvre or get into a traffic jam too early. In general, a full casco insurance makes sense if you want to insure a newer or a valuable vehicle. It is even obligatory for leasing.
In the event of partial damage to the vehicle, the casco insurances usually cover the repair costs. In the case of total damage, however, it depends on several factors. Most insurance companies offer a surcharge on the current value of the vehicle. This means that in the event of a total damage you will not only be paid the current value (i.e. the actual value of your car), but also an additional 10-20 %.
  • Partial casco insurance covers damages to your vehicle that you have not caused yourself.
  • The full casco insurance consists of a partial casco with a collision coverage. It therefore also covers damages to your vehicle that you have caused yourself.
  • In the event of a damage, casco insurances usually pay for the repair of your vehicle.
